In this workshop you will learn the basics about financial and accounting concepts and practices for nonprofits. Join us and learn what “controls” are and why they matter, basic accounting concepts, and the different types of budgets. You will learn about the non-financial items that impact your financial statements. Participation in this workshop will give you better understanding of the transparency, accountability, and good governance needed to strengthen your organization.

Trainer: Kenneth Richardson
Kenneth Richardson has more than 20 years of experience as a certified public accountant (CPA). He is a member of the Rhode Island Government Finance Officer Association, served as chairman of The Providence Financial Review Commission, and has held many positions with the Lions organization. In his practice, Ken is dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations organize their accounting records, prepare for annual audits, and define finance-related roles for staff.
